Mission Statement

Mission Statement: I will develop the higher level thinking skills of all students. I will create an environment for my students that encourages creative thinking, problem solving, and risk-taking. My students will gain knowledge of art and culture throughout history and the modern world. My students will use the elements and principles of art and design to create a portfolio of original works of art. My students will evaluate their work and the work of others.

Model Magic Coil Pots

My 3rd-8th grade students made these as a warm up for clay coil pots this week..I underestimated just how much middle school students would love Model Magic!  Next week, they'll try it with real clay.
One of my best ideas this year.....  I invested in a 4x6 canvas board for each student to use as a clay "bat" to work on and transport their artwork on.  I got them for under 50 cents each and I'll be able to reuse them every year.

  1. Wow, those colors are so pretty! I just got done with my coiling lesson for the year, but I think I will need to try this out next year!
